Interscholastic Athletic Program - Director of Athletics: Tim Surprenant

  •  Sports Information

Attention Athletes:  We have moved to an online sports registration.  There is no fee for this registration but will streamline the process for student-athletes to become cleared for sports.  The online registration can be accessed at:

    https://nccscougar-ar.rschooltoday.com/

We ask that this be completed within 30days of the sports season to ensure timely clearance.  Athletes must also have a current physical within the past 12 months on file in the health office.  Please contact the health office immediately if you are unsure of your last physical

For those students who have emergency medication such as inhalers, epi-pens, or insulin/glucagon, please be prepared with orders from your child’s primary healthcare provider allowing for those medications to be used and self-carried at school. There are school medication forms available, we will also accept your child’s health care provider’s forms” (see attachments, “Authorization for Admin of Meds” and “Self-Medication Release Form”).

Note to Parents, Athletes, and NCCS Fans

All Northeastern Clinton schedules are now available online at:

    https://www.sections710.org/public/genie/1817/school/32/

This site will allow you to see all games being played on any given date and the locations of those games. If there is an away game, it will also give bus leave times and dismissal times for those  games by hovering your mouse pointer over the game.

The athletic dept. highly suggests that you sign up for the “Notify Me” feature of this scheduling software.  This will allow you to select certain sports that you want to be sent updates for such as a new contest, rescheduled contest, or a change of location. The link to sign up for notify me is below.

    https://www.sections710.org/public/notify/genie/1817/school/32

There is also a mobile app available for our scheduling software, and it is titled “Activity Scheduler” by rSchoolToday. After you download the app, you will need to make selections of our league to see our schedules. There is also a tab on the right side of the schedule webpage that will direct you to the downloading of the app.

     Athletic Philosophy

The Northeastern Clinton Central School District Board of Education is committed to providing the best possible educational experience for our students with the primary focus on academic preparation. The participation of our students in extracurricular activities, such as Interscholastic Athletics is a very important component to the academic program, providing a well-rounded educational experience. A successful and effective interscholastic athletic program requires commitment from the Board of Education, the Administration, the Teaching and Coaching Staff, the Students Participation and parental support and cooperation. In many cases, this student participation provides a focus for the student's energy, which otherwise could lead the child in a much less favorable direction. Participation in interscholastic athletics usually enhances the academic progress of the student. In most interscholastic athletic contests, all members of a team have an opportunity to participate. At levels below varsity, the emphasis should be placed on developing skills and playing for enjoyment. At the varsity level, winning becomes more important and the more talented athletes are expected to play more.
