Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year.  We hope that your child has had a relaxing and enjoyable summer and that they return refreshed and ready to succeed.  We have worked hard over the summer to create an educational plan for your child that will help them get the most out of their school year.

We strongly encourage you to take a very active role in your child's academic progress.  Please review your child's course schedule with them.  If you have any questions about the classes they are taking or if you would like them to take additional courses, please contact their school counselor.

Please monitor your child's progress carefully.  All teachers at NCCS High School put student grades on line and update them at least every 10 days.  Early in the year your child will be given a userid and a password that will allow them to sign in to the online grades system.   To access the online grade system, please click on the following link: http://grades.nccscougar.org/.

Few things are more important to the success of a student than good parent/teacher communication.  Please keep in close contact with your child's teachers by calling them at 298-8638 or by e-mailing them directly.  A list of the NCCS high school faculty, along with e-mail addresses and website addresses, can be found at http://www.nccscougar.org/HS/High_School_Faculty_Staff_05-06.htm.

Our top priority at NCCS is your child's education.   Part of that education is helping them become well rounded individuals.  Please encourage your child to get involved with sports, music, science olympiad, reality check, drama club, key club, or a host of other extracurricular activities that will allow them to have fun, explore interests, and develop strong social skills.  To learn more about the clubs and teams we offer, please contact the main office or the counseling office.

Have a great school year.  Please e-mail me at sgratto@nccscougar.org or call me at 518-298-8638 if there is anything I can do to help your child have successful school year.

Regards,

Stephen Gratto
