Student's Responsibilities for Achieving

Success in My Classroom

  1. Regular attendance is essential, Social Studies tends to have a chronological flow, and there will be times that an important subject will be touched on only in class.
  2. Students are responsible for missed notes.  See a classmate or me.
  3. Organization is an essential key.  A three subject spiral  notebook and a 1 1/2"-2" three-ring binder with dividers for handouts are suggested items for organization.  PLEASE BRING A PEN OR PENCIL TO CLASS EVERYDAY!
  4. Handing in assignments on the due date will help to ensure students do not fall behind, or worse yet, receive a zero.  If there is a problem getting an assignment in on time, talk to me BEFORE the day it is due.
  5. Late homework and projects policy: a reduction of ten points per day beginning the day after the due date.  After a week the grade is a zero and cannot be made up.
  6. Extra Credit: is offered daily in class.  Students are required to complete all bell ringers (supplied by me) and to complete note taking assignments given by me as homework. That is the only extra credit I offer.
  7. If a student misses a quiz or exam it is extremely important they see me (I do not chase students) about making it up as soon as possible.  I am willing to do what is necessary for any student who seriously wants to make up the test.
  8. Rules: administrative policy will be strictly enforced at all times in my classroom.  Do not bring headphones, cell phones, game boys, portable DVD players, I pods, drinks or food to my class.  NO HATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
