Test:

Usually after every unit we will have a test.  Before each test I will hand out study guides.  Everything that is on the study guide will be on the test.  Your child should use their notebook and study guide to study for the test.  I make sure that your child knows a week in advance when the test will be.

Projects:

Class Elections:  I do this to show the students how the election process works.  They will actually be taking part in a Primary Election and a Presidential Election.

Colonial New York:  The students get to choose a project that they would like to do for this unit.  They get to choose from building a colonial school house, acting out a day in a colonial child’s life, acting out some of the trials we will learn about, or they may also choose from other topics.

Building long houses:  We build these during our Native American unit.
