moved by wind or waves; something conveyed through the air;
a gentle breeze
A gentle morning
breeze wafted through the open window as Sue opened
her eyes to the sound of the surf lapping the shoreline.
The smell of cooked
bacon wafting through the cabin let everyone know it
was breakfast time.
Literary
term of the week:
science fiction—In
the fictional genre, science fiction is a story that
is based on science-related ideas. Some of the scientific
“facts” and developments in science are not real and may
never be possible.
Examples of science fiction novels include: H.G. Wells’War
of the Worlds; Bruce Coville’s My Teacher is an Alien;
Jeanne DuPrau’s City of Ember, Scott Westerfield’s
Uglies, etc.
