Course Descriptions

 

French 3

    This is a Regents course with the exam given only in June. The class stresses reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The text book is Allez,Viens 3. Basic instructions are given in French, and students are expected to attempt to communicate in French.

 

French 4

    This course expands the grammar and vocabulary learned in French 2 and 3. Each month a project based on vocabulary with a theme (sports, food, school, etc.) is assigned. In addition, advanced grammar is taught using  the book Bon Voyage. The class may be taken for credit from Clinton Community College as FRE 101 .

 

French 5

    This course reviews all the grammar learned in the previous years as well as introduces new  advanced grammar topics. Students will also study several regions in France and Quebec. Weekly discussion on current topics are student led entirely in French. Movies, short stories and  books excerpts are included. This course can be taken for credit from Clinton Community College as FRE 201.
