School Counseling
Philosophy
|
At
Northeastern Clinton, it is our belief that a
comprehensive, developmentally based, school
counseling program can meet the personal,
social, academic and career needs of all our
students. Our school counseling program is an
integral part of the overall school program.
We offer individual and small group counseling
to our students for short term concerns; in
addition, we offer consulting, and
coordinating services to the students, staff,
and community of our district. All students
receive contact from their school counselor
individually, in small groups, during
classroom and other large group presentations.
Students are encouraged to schedule
appointments to see their school counselor
during free periods.
We
believe that all students can develop to their
greatest potential and we seek to assist in
that development by being a consistent and
positive presence in their lives throughout
their high school years. |
The
Career Center
|
Find
our information about yourself; discover
information about hot careers or do a career
search using one of the helpful links below.
Talk with your parent, teacher or school
counselor about your skills, interests, work
values, and desired work traits. Finding a
career is not a like looking for a single
destination; rather, finding a career best
suited to your skills, interests, and values
is a journey. By researching these critical
areas, you'll make your journey smooth and
enjoyable. Regardless of whether or not you
plan on attending college, entering the
workforce immediately after graduation, or
joining the armed forces, there's help for you
in the NCCS Guidance Career Center. |
The
Academic Center
|
Academic
success is often the key to creating
opportunities in life. We believe that each
student must attain the means to be successful
academically. To that end, we offer these
helpful links to assist you with study skills,
time management, learning techniques, and help
for students with disabilities.

Each
year, over 70% of our graduates continue their
education at two or four year colleges. Many
of the students who do not choose to attend
college immediately after graduation from high
school, attend college within the next three
years. For this reason, The Guidance
Department offers a wide variety of resources
to aid students and their families with the
college selection process. We offer literally
thousands of college catalogs, college videos,
resource guides, and computerized search
programs. We also offer students internet
access so that can send and receive
information to/from colleges and universities.
