Rules and Expectations for Class                            Studio Art - Mr. Gallagher

 1)    Treat other students and your teacher with respect.  You should expect the same.

 2)    Return materials in the condition that they were taken.  Clean up after yourself!

 3)   Come to class on time and prepared to work.  Do not spend three days thinking of what to draw or looking for something to draw.

4)    Students are expected to have a pencil with an eraser of their own every day.

5)    Students are graded on the basis of effort and ability.  Just like every other class you take in high school.

6)    Students may earn extra credit by doing various additional projects. Usually one drawing, painting or project will earn approximately one point on to the student’s overall average.

7)    Students will be disciplined if they do not make use of class time.

8)    Students may redo any project in an effort to improve their grade.

9)    Do not take any items from my desk, the cabinets at the back of the room, or the cabinets beneath the sink without my permission.

10)   Students should NEVER be in the art room unless I am present.

11)  Students should NEVER enter or exit through Ms. St. Pierre’s room.

12)  Grades are based on creativity, execution and effort.  It is not just a matter of, “If you try your best you will get an A.”  Like any other class, the measurable result will be the greatest factor in the student’s average.  The measurable result is based on quality of the work and a demonstration of the techniques and principles discussed in class.

13)  No food, no drink, no hat, no inappropriate clothing, no ipods.  Ever.

14)       Students may talk quietly as long as it is not disruptive does not interfere with my addressing the class.

15)       Student wishing to come to the art room during a study hall should get a pass from me in advance.

16)  All projects are due one week before the end of the marking period.
