Band Classroom Management Policies and Procedures
A. Personal Conduct
We all have rights. It is every student's right to learn and the director's right to teach. The following policies will ensure that everyone's rights are preserved and protected.
1. Cooperate fully by following the director's instructions immediately, completely, and with a good attitude!
2. Never talk when conductor is on the podium.
3. Raise your hand, not your voice, when you wish to speak. Wait patiently for the teacher to call on you.
4. Respect the rights and property of others.
5. Come into class quickly and quietly. Be seated immediately with materials ready for class.
6. No Gum
7. Bring your Agenda Book to both lessons and band.
Consequences
1. First time offence will result in a warning. 2. Repeated offences will result in ASD.
B. Music policies
Music will be passed out to students and collected back after every performance. It is very expensive to purchase. Therefore, you are responsible for taking PERFECT care of your music. It must come back in the same condition that it was given to you.
1. Always write your name on the upper right hand corner of your music, method books, and folders with pencil.
2. When the director gives musical direction, write them – in pencil only- on your music.
3. Do not put your folder in your instrument case. It can damage the music, instrument (keys, valves, rods, ect...) and be very expensive to fix. Keep your music in your assigned folder slot.
4. Only YOU are responsible for your instrument and music!
5. If you loose or damage the music you will have to pay for the replacement.
C. Instruments
1. Instruments need to be kept in your school locker.
2. Music needs to be put in your assigned slot or locker.

1. Appropriate concert dress is expected. Failure to follow concert dress code will results in student not being able to participate in the concert.
