Interscholastic Activities

The Northeastern Clinton Central School District Board of Education is committed to providing the best possible educational experience for our students with the primary focus on academic preparation. The participation of our students in extracurricular activities, such as Interscholastic Athletics is a very important component to the academic program, providing a well-rounded educational experience. A successful and effective interscholastic athletic program requires commitment from the Board of Education, the Administration, the Teaching and Coaching Staff, the Students Participation and parental support and cooperation. In many cases, this student participation provides a focus for the student's energy, which otherwise could lead the child in a much less favorable direction. Participation in interscholastic athletics usually enhances the academic progress of the student. In most interscholastic athletic contests, all members of a team have an opportunity to participate. At levels below varsity, the emphasis should be placed on developing skills and playing for enjoyment. At the varsity level, winning becomes more important and the more talented athletes are expected to play more.

Co-curricular Programs

The School District recognizes the educational value inherent in student participation in the extracurricular life of the school, for such purposes as building leadership skills, developing team work interests in an academic area, and gaining an understanding of the responsibilities of good citizenship.
